Pastoral Care

There are various opportunities to minister in pastoral care at St. Leo.

Pastoral Care Team

The Pastoral Care Team takes the Good News and Eucharist to parishioners in their homes, in the hospital, and in retirement and assisted living/care facilities. This ministry involves prayerfulness, listening, empathy, caring, presence, and personal commitment.

Prayer Line Ministry

The Phone & Email Prayer Line intercessors receive prayer concerns individually or through the anonymity of a prayer line. While all members of St. Leo are invited to participate as Prayer Ministers, this ministry provides particularly rich opportunities for the elderly and the homebound. Also, upon request, those who are sick and struggling can be named in the weekend Prayers of the Faithful.

Writing Ministry

The Writing Ministry sends messages of care and support to those experiencing illness, setbacks, and personal loss. This ministry also sends birthday congratulations to our senior members.

Divorce Support Ministry

This group welcomes anyone divorced, contemplating divorce, or in the process of divorce.  We believe God is present during this difficult time in our lives and is using us to be channels of support and love to help each other through this time of grieving and pain. Group members are encouraged to tell their “stories,” as it seems that in telling comes eventual healing and the release of grace.  So if you are newly divorced or divorced for twenty years and feel the need to continue healing in a supportive and caring environment, we welcome you! We meet on certain Thursdays in the rectory from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Upcoming meetings are announced in the St. Leo bulletin.

Hospitality Ministry

The Hospitality Ministry prepares and serves food and refreshments to compliment parish socials, funerals, meetings, and liturgical celebrations. This ministry also includes special events during the year. Hospitality ministers are key to creating a warm and welcoming sensibility to parish gatherings.

After Mass Hospitality

Volunteers build community after the weekend Masses by preparing and serving coffee, tea, cookies, etc. and helping with clean-up.

Cookie Bakers

We ask for homemade or bakery style cookies for our funeral receptions and special events.
